Medical Malpractice
Medical errors can result in serious and life-threatening injuries. Many doctors provide exceptional medical treatment, however, even the best doctors are capable of committing negligence. Medical Malpractice occurs when a doctor or a member of the medical staff fails to use appropriate care that causes injury to the patient. The injuries must be legally caused by the medical error, or, ones that would not otherwise have occurred.
Medical malpractice cases require extensive resources to prosecute successfully. In a medical malpractice case, the plaintiff (injured party) must prove by preponderance of the evidence and through qualified expert testimony that the breach of the standard of care caused the injuries complained of.
Given the nature of most medical errors, there may be multiple experts involved in a case and it will involve many hours of research, discovery, and court appearances. We carefully review cases referred to us and are highly selective about the cases we accept.
If you believe you, or a member of your family, has been the victim of a medical error that has caused a serious injury, we would be happy to review your case.
