Qui Tam/False Claims Act

Sometimes, an employee or agent of a government contractor or other firm that does business with the federal, state or local agencies learns that the contractor or firm is seeking payment for services never rendered or is jacking up the invoice. The law gives "whistleblowers" incentives to come forward. If they present their claims properly and prevail, they may recover a reward or bounty for filing suit and brining it to the government's attention.
